Liverpool face a firm £86m benchmark to open negotiations with star winger reports Sky Sports via DaveOCKOP
“The €20m transfer fee paid to Leganés last summer has, in the club’s view, more than quintupled in value. Meanwhile, Leipzig are planning a contract adjustment, including a salary increase, to keep Diomande until 2027. Leipzig are fighting to retain the Ivorian for another season. But: Diomande is not untouchable. Depends on potential offers.”

The momentum surrounding the future of Liverpool’s attack has hit a formidable financial barrier. Decision-makers at Anfield are now forced to confront a hardened stance from RB Leipzig, as the speculation regarding Yan Diomande's value becomes a stark reality.
Initial speculative valuations of £85 million have been dismissed. Sources confirm the Bundesliga club will not part with the winger for less than €100 million, firmly setting an £86 million minimum benchmark simply to listen to incoming offers. The €20 million fee paid to CD Leganés last summer has effectively quintupled in the German club's view, matching his explosive development on the pitch.

Leipzig currently holds total control over the situation. With Champions League qualification appearing increasingly optimistic, they operate without any financial pressure to sell their assets. Their immediate intention is to implement a contract adjustment, complete with a salary increase, to keep the Ivorian until 2027. The club have emphasised they are fighting to retain him for another season to manage their own attacking workload.
However, the door is not entirely closed. Leipzig have acknowledged that Diomande is not untouchable, provided a suitor meets their inflated premium. Liverpool are directly challenged by this development, as the English club must now decide if their financial foundations can support this massive outlay, or if the right-wing position must be addressed through other, more cost-effective avenues.
