Ryan Gravenberch is back in training, and although it's touch and go for him to be ready for the Aston Villa on Sunday, it looks likely he should be ready to start against PSV in the week, or at the very least Manchester City next weekend, offering extra guile and strength to a part of the pitch that has been sorely missed over recent weeks.
Meanwhile, Curtis Jones and Alexander Isak will miss the forthcoming fixtures, along with Jeremie Frimpong, who is set to be out for six weeks with another hamstring injury.
Slot said on Gravenberch:
“Ryan Gravenberch trained with Liverpool yesterday and could be involved against Aston Villa. Alexander Isak and Curtis Jones did not, and are 99 per cent not in the squad."
So expect a much more rigid midfield and defensive setup over the next couple of matches, and hopefully a return to something approaching ‘form’.
Liverpool play Aston Villa on Saturday at 20:00 GMT.
