At 38, Cesc Fàbregas might seem an unconventional choice, but his credentials make him one of the most intriguing names in European football. The Spaniard has impressed during his time at Como, where his progressive tactical approach has turned heads across Italy. 

In a 2024 interview with SportBIBLE, Fàbregas revealed his admiration for Liverpool, describing them as the fanbase he wished he could have played for during his career. His tactical blueprint is distinctly modern.

Their league leading tally of 725-line breaking passes reflects Fàbregas' core philosophy: stretch the opposition wide, overload central zones, and strike when gaps emerge.

Drawing from mentors like Wenger, Guardiola, Mourinho, Conte, and Del Bosque, Fàbregas has forged his own identity defined by intelligence, ambition, and tactical precision. Reports suggest he turned down approaches from Inter Milan and Bayer Leverkusen to continue his project at Como. 

That combination of loyalty, tactical sophistication, and ambition aligns with Liverpool's values. The lack of Premier League experience is a legitimate concern, but the club has successfully backed potential before.

Zinedine Zidane: The Ultimate Winner

Some names transcend ambition. Zinedine Zidane is one of them. A three-time Champions League winner as manager, Zidane's achievements at Real Madrid speak volumes.

Gareth Southgate managing Liverpool would surprise many, but his credentials warrant consideration.

The England manager has reached two European Championship finals and a World Cup semi-final, demonstrating his ability to build cohesive teams, establish clear structures, and navigate high pressure situations.

His strength lies in creating unity and managing expectations rather than tactical innovation at club level. While his international success is impressive, Liverpool may prefer a manager with a more distinctive tactical identity and proven club pedigree.

Southgate remains an outsider, but his availability and experience keep him in the conversation.

Marco Rose: Familiar Energy, Uncertain Track Record
