Gareth Taylor’s side host Brighton this Sunday, a win for the Reds would see them advance into the FA Cup final. If victorious, it will be either Chelsea or Manchester City waiting for them in the final.
A massive opportunity for Liverpool to make this season a special campaign, from near relegation to a FA Cup final would be an incredible story. With their status in the WSL secured for another season, the Reds can put all their energy into these potential last two games.
Recent form:
The task in front of them is not an easy one, the visitors are unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions. Picking up five points out of their last possible nine, getting results against Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City.
Their most recent result was a 1-1 draw against the Gunners, the team they knocked out also in the previous round with a 2-0 away victory.
Kiko Seike is the danger for the Seagulls, the 29 year-old Japanese international has scored eight times in the WSL this season, making her the club's top goal-scorer.
The game is set to be a tight affair, in the league meetings both games finished as a stalemate. The most recent game on the 22nd of March ended in a goalless stalemate, while the other previous game finished as a 1-1 draw with Rosa Kafaji scoring a late equaliser.
Liverpool however are entering into this matchup losing their previous two matches, back to back 1-0 defeats to West Ham and Manchester City.
It is fair to say the Reds were unlucky to pick up zero points from those games, wastefulness in front of goal is what cost Gareth Taylor's ladies.
A trend they can not afford to continue going into this game, since the turn of the year the hosts have proven time and time again that they belong in the WSL and can compete with the best in the division.
The game this Sunday is another chance to make a statement win versus the most inform team in the top flight.
Team news:
No new injuries are being reported coming into this massive clash. Cornelia Kapocs has returned to training, which will be a big boost for Gareth Taylor's squad.
Marie Höbinger, Sophie Roman Haug and Sofie Lundgaard all remain out injured.
Prediction:
Liverpool 1-1 Brighton (5-3) penalties
