Juventus eye Chiesa return as Man City target Guehi - Media Watch
By Steven Northover
A return to his former club looks increasingly likely for Federico Chiesa, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The winger, who joined Liverpool in the summer of 2024 made a name for himself at the Turin club, scoring 11 goals in 54 games.
However an ACL injury in January 2022 curtailed his blossoming career and he has not had the same form for club or country since.
At Liverpool, for example, he has only scored two goals in 21 games, and has not played for his national team since June 2024 - although, to his credit, he has declined a number of international callups, instead wanting to focus on returning to full fitness.
He does, however, seem to remain outside of Arne Slot’s first team plans, having only started three games all season and also lost out on the African Cup of Nations selection to Mo Salah.
No concrete offer has been made yet, and the final decision will be between the player and his parent club, but there is a growing list of suitors in his homeland and with Napoli also showing interest in the Summer - a move back to Italy seems inevitable either in this month or at the end of the season.

With barely a week gone in the January transfer window, it looks like Liverpool are about to lose out on another ‘number one’ target to Manchester City.
Despite being seen as Mohamed Salah’s long term replacement at Liverpool throughout last summer and the initial stages of this season, Antoine Somenyo is likely to join rivals Manchester City this window.
To make things worse, the Citizens are looking to bring Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi into their ever evolving defensive third.
The centre back, currently in the last six months of his contract at Palace has long been pursued by Liverpool with a deadline day bid being declined in the Summer, despite personal terms being agreed between the Reds and the player.
However, it was still considered a ‘dead cert’ that the 25-year-old would still join Liverpool either this month or in the summer.
In the meantime, however, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Barcelona have all shown interest in a player whose stock has grown immeasurably in the last few seasons, and now Manchester City seems likely to steal on an increasingly sluggish and fractious Liverpool.
To lose out on Somenyo would be one thing, but to then lose out on another player, to the same club on the same window would be a damning indictment of the Red’s transfer strategy and policy this season - especially after an expensive window last summer.
