Liverpool are fresh off the back of an astonishing Merseyside Derby win, and now turn their attention to Crystal Palace. With two wins back-to-back, could The Reds be mounting a late-season surge? 

If Liverpool are able to win this game, it could see them rise as high as third if other results go their way, an incredible achievement considering where they sat at one stage of the season. Champions League football looks firmly in sight for Slot’s men. A win against a strong Crystal Palace side would certainly help to boost morale in what has undoubtedly been a tough season.

Whilst Alison, Gomez, and Endo are still doubtful for this match, they have been seen in training, meaning a return to the pitch is on the cards soon for the trio.  Leoni, Ekitike, Bradley, and Mamardashvili are almost guaranteed not to play a role in this match. Mamardashvili is the most recent injury, having to be stretchered off last time out against Everton. 

Adam Wharton could be back in the side for Crystal Palace for Saturday’s game. Nketiah Evan Guessand and Cheick Doucoure are expected to be unavailable for this game.

Head-to-Head 

Crystal Palace has posed a massive bogey team for Liverpool, going undefeated in the last four fixtures between the two sides. The last time Liverpool were able to beat Palace was back in October 2024, which saw Diego Jota score the singular goal in a 1-0 win at Selhurst Park. 

Most recently, Palace beat Liverpool 3-0 in the Carabao Cup. Ismaila Sarr scored a brace in that match, Yeremy Pino scoring the final goal to seal the victory for the Eagles. Where as in the Premier League, Palace ended Liverpool's unbeaten start to the season,  beating them 2-1 with  Eddie Nketiah scoring an injury time winner for the South Londoners.
