Liverpool women secured a dominant 4-1 victory over Aston Villa, in the Women’s Super League. Goals from Mia Enderby, Martha Thomas, Grace Fisk and Aurélie Csillag sealed the win, while Villa’s only reply came through Miri Taylor. The result strengthens Liverpool’s league position and highlights their attacking sharpness in a high-scoring encounter.

First half summary:

The Reds started off strong with Mia Enderby taking the lead at 9th minute assisted by Ceri Holland. Followed up by another goal under five minutes, with Martha Thomas, capitalizing on sustained pressure. Aston Villa earlier succumbed to pressure with the Reds’ attacking style. However they managed to score a goal before the first half through Miri Taylor, assisted by Kristy Hanson with a cross.

Second half summary:

Liverpool emerged after the break with calm authority, playing as though the storm had already passed and only the finishing remained. Captain Grace Fisk rose to the moment, driving home a decisive goal at the last moment. From there, the Reds dictated the rhythm, their passing crisp and their intent unmistakable, before substitute Aurélie Csillag added the final flourish a late strike that sealed the afternoon and turned pressure into promise.

What does this win do?

This win propelled Liverpool into eleventh place in the table, pushing Leicester City bottom. It was a much needed win for the Reds and a win that feels more like a revival and less of a survival. They play the champions Chelsea next in the league on Sunday 15th February at 12:00 (GMT).
