Mo Salah - "The Club are Throwing Me Under the Bus"

It now feels like Liverpool’s crisis season has been thrown into further chaos following the teams embarrassing 3-3 draw against Leeds.

However, this time it's what is happening off the pitch, and not on it, that is likely to fill the column inches over the next few days.

Talismanic forward, Mo Salah, has made a series of biting allegations towards the Liverpool hierarchy following his omission from Liverpool’s entire squad against the Yorkshire club.

"I've said a few times before that I have a good relationship with the manager and now all of a sudden we have no relationship. I don't know why.

"It [the situation] is not acceptable to me, to be fair. I don't get it. It's like I'm being thrown more under the bus. I don't think I'm the problem. I have done so much for this club. I don't have to fight every day for my position because I earn it. I earned my position."

There have been a number of rumours and theories that Arne Slot had lost the dressing room and Salah’s statement appears to add some credibility to those rumours.

That said, of course, the Egyptian’s form has seen a marked down turn since the start of the season, having scored just four times in the league this season. Thus this isn't the first time he has not made the first team, largely relegated to the subs bench in recent games.

But his comments will pour even more attention on the future of Dutchman Arne Slot.

Despite the successes of last season, time seems to be running out for Slot at Anfield. Losses to Nottingham Forest and Galatasaray - amongst others - have led to accusations of Slot’s tactical rigidity and over reliance on substandard players.

For both manager and player - who is still extremely popular in the Saudi Pro League - it feels like time is coming to an end of their stay in the Premier League, it's just a question of who goes first.
