Liverpool travel to the Amex, looking to build on their dominant display against Galatasaray in the Champions League which saw the Reds advance into the last eight. Arne Slot’s side will be hoping to turn around their recent league form, dropping points to Wolves and Tottenham in the last two games

Brighton have been one of the sides this season that the Reds have been able to get the upperhand over, coming out on top in their last two meetings, most recently in the FA Cup one month ago with a 3-0 thumping at home.

This time though the Seagulls are at home, Fabian Hurzeler’s side will be feeling confident coming into this game with three wins in their last four and seemed to have turned a corner. The seaside has always been a difficult place for Liverpool, in their last five meetings at the Amex the away side have only won once, especially on a half 12 kick-off this game has all the credentials to be a difficult matchup for Arne Slot’s side.

Danny Welbeck, Yankuba Minteh and Diego Gomez are the dangermen for the homeside all players who have the capability to cause some serious damage to the Liverpool backline. We may also see a familiar face in James Milner feature after recently becoming the highest appearance maker in the league.

Liverpool on the other hand, will be feeling on top of the world after steamrolling Galatasaray midweek. A really good team performance, dominating the game from start to finish, getting the crowd involved, all aspects of Arne Slot’s Liverpool have been criticised for not doing enough this season.

This game tends to provide goals, three goals or more have been scored in nine of the last 10 outings between these two sides, so it is set up to be an absolute roller coaster.

Mohammed Salah came off injured midweek and has been ruled out. A potential opening for Rio Ngumoha to start after his impressive display against Tottenham last weekend. Alisson Becker has said on Instagram "Unfortunately I will be out of action for a while" so it appears as though Giorgi Mamardashvili will be crucial for The Reds in coming weeks.

Alexander Isak is back on grass but this game is still too early for him, Connor Bradley and Giovani Leoni the other senior figures who will be missing.

Predicted XI:

Brighton & Hove Albion; Verbruggen; Wieffer, Van Hecke, Dunk, Kadıoğlu; Milner, Groß; Gómez, Rutter, Minteh; Welbeck.

Liverpool; Mamardashvili , Kerkez, Konate, Van Djik, Frimpong, Jones, Gravenberch, Ngumoha, Wirtz, Szoboszlai, Ekitike

Score Prediction / Verdict:

This game always provides goals, I think that pattern will continue on Saturday and The Reds get it over the line. The confidence from the win midweek will have a knock on and Arne Slot’s men claim three important points.

Score Prediction- Brighton & Hove Albion 1-2 Liverpool.
