Liverpool hosted the Turkish side at Anfield on Wednesday in the 2nd leg of the UCL game. The Reds were motivated enough to outscore Galatasaray, to compensate for the previous 1-0 game at Istanbul. Liverpool delivered a commanding and dominant performance at Anfield, dismantling Galatasaray completely over 90 minutes.

From the moment the game commenced, the Reds under Arne Slot were driven enough to take full control. The Hungarian midfielder, Dominik Szoboszlai, scored in the 25th minute with a calm left-footed shot into the bottom corner. Galatasaray were compact but under pressure from the start, with limited possession. Before Szoboszlai's 25th-minute goal, Gala held firm without conceding chances easily, though Liverpool dominated the ball and created some pressure through high pressing.

The Reds took total control in the second half, with Hugo Ekitike’s tidy finish after a delightful cross by Mohammed Salah in the 51st minute, capitalizing Liverpool’s pressure. Gravenberch soon enough came with another goal that put Liverpool in a firm situation to advance. Before the tie was settled, the Egyptian sealed another goal for the Reds in the 62nd minute. M. Salah’s 50th goal in UEFA Champions League and the first African footballer to do so with a trademark finish.

Galatasaray started with some intent but couldn't match Liverpool's quality or intensity at Anfield. They defended deep after the early goal but collapsed in the second half with quick concessions. Their attack was toothless! Which eventually gave the Reds ample amount of opportunities.

Liverpool’s dominant win was more than just a result and advancement to the Quarter Finals of the Champions League. Arne Slot’s team reminded everyone of what the Reds are capable of doing. 3 goals in eleven minutes in the second half itself exposed the Turkish side's inability to cope with the brilliance of the Reds.

Galatasaray, so resilient at home, were simply outclassed away. Their deep block cracked under sustained pressure, midfield was overrun, and they offered almost nothing going forward. The contrast between the two legs highlights how much home advantage and crowd energy matter in knockout football.

Player Ratings:

Jeremie Frimpong – 7/10

Regularly pushed forward as an attacking outlet early on and handled his defensive duties well against Yilmaz. Subbed off later.

Ibrahima Konate – 7/10

Not always spot-on with clearances into midfield in the first half, but benefited from Osimhen's arm injury limiting the striker. Grew stronger as the game went on.

Virgil van Dijk – 8/10

Spent much of the early stages dropping into midfield and created a chance with a header for Mac Allister. Completely dominated Galatasaray's weak attack.

Milos Kerkez – 9/10

Fired up the crowd with strong early challenges and set the tone with an all-action display. Impressive throughout and still going strong in the final minutes.

Ryan Gravenberch – 8/10

Saw plenty of the ball before halftime, broke lines effectively, and sparked/finished the move for the third goal. Looked very comfortable on the ball. Subbed.

Alexis Mac Allister – 7/10

Delivered a clever corner for the opener, hit the bar with a header, forced a great save from Cakir in the second half, and had a goal disallowed. Much more lively than recent games.

Mohamed Salah – 8.5/10

More like his old self always moving, thwarted by two good Cakir saves, set up Ekitike for the second, and smashed in the fourth (his 50th UCL goal). Penalty miss aside, a strong night; injury-forced sub was a concern.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 9.2/10

Far more effective back in midfield snapped into tackles, drove forward, scored the first goal clinically, and won the penalty. Not a right-back!

Florian Wirtz – 8/10

Denied by a deflection close in, worked hard from the left to find spaces, and delivered a string of dangerous passes in the second half. Subbed.

Hugo Ekitike – 7.5/10

Mixed first half with clever touches but reluctant to run in behind at times. Improved after the break and finished his goal well. Subbed.
