Liverpool made up for Tuesday's agonising late defeat with an efficient and calm performance which sees the Reds advance to the Last 8 of the Emirates FA Cup. Rio Ngumoah shone in rare minutes for the youngster whilst Vice-Captain Andrew Robertson made his presence known.
Slot's side didn't have it all their own way at Molineux for the second time in 3 days, but Liverpool capitalised on a rocky spell for Wolverhampton Wanderers. Robertson, Salah and Jones all found the net in a rare comfortable victory for the side which fell late on Tuesday.
Match Review
Wolverhampton Wanderers came into this FA Cup tie with high confidence, with the past fortnight seeing them put away Aston Villa and soon after Liverpool, it gave Wolves fans a belief that the FA Cup could be another chance to beat Slot's side once again.
Liverpool lacked urgency on Tuesday, far too sideways and stale to pose much of a threat. However, Fridays outing was far sharper and direct. Liverpool amassing 11 shots in the first half showed glimpses that Slot had it worked out. The chances weren't clear cut, Gravenberch taking a large portion of the long distance efforts.
The Reds had been knocking at the door since they came back out for the second half, and just six minutes after the restart was where the deadlock was broken. Andy Robertson found space to lash an effort into the far corner of the goal and announce himself as he commented post-match:

"I'm not sure I've got a point to prove in a Liverpool shirt."
Two minutes later, he only bettered his evening by whipping a ball into Mohammed Salah who tucked home to make it 2 in 2 for the Egyptian. There was a lengthy VAR check that proceeded the goal though, Salah being behind the ball as it was delivered from Robertson.
Rio Shines in Rare Start

Rio Ngumoha was granted a rare start under Arne Slot after limited game time began to contradict the club's plans to involve him regularly. Though, given his chance, he shone. Despite not getting on the scoresheet, he was an integral part in Liverpool's success. In his 69 minute cameo; he had 59 touches, made 30/33 (91%) accurate passes, 2 shots on target, and fouled 3 times (according to Fotmob). This all amounted to the youngster picking up the Man of the Match award, a highly impressive display.
Verdict
There was a lot to like about how Liverpool recovered from Tuesday's dramatic 2-1 defeat. The tempo was better and it showed in the result. Arne Slot will still face criticisms for the 5 late losses in the PL (a new record), but if he can steer The Reds into a day at 'Anfield South' there can still be something worth fighting for in a lacklustre season for Liverpool.
