With Mo Salah's career at Liverpool coming to an end, the search for his replacement has begun. At the very top of the list, even before Salah's announcement on Tuesday, was Bayern Munich's Michael Olise.
The former Crystal Palace winger, who joined the Bavarian giants in 2024, has long been admired by the Frenchman and were in the running to sign the winger before the 34-time German Champions became his preferred destination.
Despite that set back, Liverpool remained interested, and watch the 24-year-old's career with interest. Both Micheal Edwards and Richard Hughes maintained an ‘open channel' with Olise's representatives.

With that in mind, Liverpool were always set to make an offer for the winger, who has scored 36 goals in Germany, however their pursuit has already had an early bonus, with Olise having a release clause in his contract.
The details are still not publicly known, with the clause been described as being structured on a different manner to ‘traditonal’ release clauses. However, Liverpool remain confident that an agreement can be reached in the Summer, with the winger open to a move back to the Premier League, with the Reds a favourite destination.
However, with three months of the season left to run, there is plenty of time for the ‘’higer-ups’ at Munich to thrash out a deal with the player and removing the clause altogether.
That said, Liverpool are in the hunt for a goal scoring winger, and Michael Olise fits the bill, so a bid appears to be almost certain, whether there is a release clause or not.
