Liverpool have today released their 2026/27 home shirt, which will be worn during the final game of the season against Brentford.
The kit takes inspiration from the 1989/90 Candy sponsored strip that the Reds won their 18th league title in, the last before the 30-year drought.
In a statement released alongside the kit, Liverpool said: “widely regarded as one of LFC’s most iconic adidas kits, the original 1989 to 1991 strip became synonymous with one of the club’s greatest teams:
“The new home shirt draws inspiration from the original adidas design – instantly recognisable for its dynamic geometric pattern – combining timeless club heritage with modern performance design.
“A new LFC name and number style for the back of the shirt has been introduced which aligns with the club’s new typeface deployed last season, drawing on the wings and talons of the Liver bird for inspiration.”

The Reds' goalkeepers will also be sporting a 90s inspired kit next season. In the release, Alisson can be seen modeling a green kit with the same patterns as seen on the outfield home strip.
The new training and pre-match range have also been released. The black and white pre-match range have a striking resemblance to the 2008-2010 range also made by adidas.

In the 1989/90 variation of this kit Liverpool had some famous results. In September, they beat Crystal Palace 9-0 at Anfield. The Reds also recorded big wins over rivals Everton and Manchester United before beating QPR 2-1 at Anfield to seal the title.
Kenny Dalglish would leave in the middle of the next season and Liverpool struggled to replicate his magic for the next three decades. The previous version of this kit marked the end of an era at Anfield; Liverpool are hoping this variation can kick start their current one.
