France international and two-time Champions League winner, Bradley Barcola, looks set for a dramatic exit from French super club PSG, with Arsenal and Liverpool the likely destinations.

The news will be music to the ears of the Reds' Director of Football Richard Hughes, with Liverpool long being admirers of the 23-year-old - and have seen the Villeurbanne-born winger as a long-term replacement for the departed Mo Salah.

The situation, from an Anfield point of view, is complicated by Arsenal also being interested. As current Premier League Champions, and arguably the league's current strongest side, the North London club could offer a more instant version of success compared to the Reds’ work in progress.

That said, Andoni Iraola’s expected exiting, attacking football would be a better fit for a combative winger, compared to Arsenal's measured, pragmatic playing style - especially compared to the style of PSG.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also rumoured to be interested in RB Leipzig's Ivorian wonder kid Yan Diomande; however, they are against having another Summer spending spree, and with several other positions to fill, the Reds may have to choose one and not the other.

Of course, pragmatism may take over - with Salah gone and the likes of Federico Chiesa, Cody Gakpo and Curtis Jones looking almost certain to leave, it looks increasingly likely that the Reds may need to break the bank once again to shore up the types of players needed for Iraola's tactics.

Either way, the Summer transfer already has the hallmarks of another exciting pre-season on Merseyside, with perhaps one or two of the best young attackers in World Football seemingly set to line up for the Reds in their first game in August. Indeed, it is a testament to the continuing power and reputation of a club like Liverpool, where they can have a season as meek as the last one, but still attract the best players.

Who would you prefer? Or perhaps you think it would be wise for Liverpool to break the bank once again, and future-proof the forward line for years to come?
