Liverpool have officially initiated contact with RB Leipzig, stepping up their pursuit of Yan Diomande. Operating primarily as an inverted right winger, his high-volume ball carrying and clinical finishing offer exactly what Arne Slot demands. Educated within the Leipzig system, the forward is well-versed in the intense defensive transitions required in the Premier League, and his dual-footed nature makes him highly unpredictable in the final third.
Breaking the deadlock will require a staggering financial commitment. Following his €20 million transfer from CD Leganés last summer, Diomande's value has skyrocketed. At 19 years old, the player represents the ideal long-term profile for the club's ownership, but the massive price tag of potentially £112M presents a significant hurdle.
